Walker to Fulfill Lifelong Dream of Playing the Grand Ole Opry

WALKER MONTGOMERY TO FULFILL LIFELONG DREAM OF PLAYING THE GRAND OLE OPRY IN DECEMBER

NASHVILLE, TN (November 6, 2023)  – A bucket list moment like playing the Grand Ole Opryfor the very first time is always extremely special to a country artist, but perhaps even more so for a singer like Walker Montgomery, whose family legacy is firmly planted deep in country’s rich roots.

Stepping into that legendary circle where so much amazing and important music and history has been made is in no way lost on Walker, as the son of 90’s hit maker John Michael Montgomery and nephew of Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery. The talented young entertainer has already achieved plenty of milestones in his own career over the last few years, but his upcoming Opry debut on December 1st is definitely high on the list of goals he’s thrilled to have been able to reach.

A self-described old soul, Montgomery is eager and ready to play for the Opry audience, many of whom are no doubt fans of the same boot-stomping, generational country he grew up on while watching his dad build his career decades ago and play on that very same stage.

“Country Music has been my life for as long as I can remember,” says Montgomery about the upcoming performance. “The fact that I get to play The Opry is an absolutely surreal feeling and truly an honor.”

The Kentucky native has had a busy year, releasing his new EP WORK TO DO earlier this Fall as well as several singles from the project, including the raucous barnburner “Lonely For A Livin’,” the crisp, fiddle and steel-tinged two-stepper title track, and the touching love ballad, “Tired Of You.”

Tickets to catch Walker’s Opry debut are available HERE.

ABOUT WALKER MONTGOMERY
Chosen as an "Artist to Watch" by Country Now, Music Mayhem Magazine, Sounds Like Nashville, The Boot and others, Walker Montgomery knows a thing or two about family tradition, but is also striving to build his own legacy. The 24-year-old son of John Michael Montgomery and nephew of Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery was raised away from the spotlight in Nicholasville, Kentucky, but moved to Nashville and is carving a path all his own on today’s country scene. Montgomery’s pedigree is matched only by his passion for real country music, and he’s already put his classically-inspired, honey-bourbon vocal to use on a self-penned debut hit (“Simple Town,” over 5.2 Million Spotify streams) and the romantic power-ballad, “She Don’t Know,” (featured on the 2022 RUST EP) has garnered the new artist over 20 million streams worldwide, in addition to his other story-building singles, the high-energy “Out of Nowhere” and good-time filled “Bad Day To Be A Beer”. Walker has previously released  singles from his new ep WORK TO DO, the title track, “Lonely For A Livin’” and the current single “Tired of You"
and the focus track, "Never Again One More Time."

Walker Montgomery Rolls His Sleeves Up with Brand New EP Work To Do Out Today

WALKER MONTGOMERY ROLLS HIS SLEEVES UP WITH BRAND NEW EP

 WORK TO DO OUT TODAY

NASHVILLE, TN (September 15, 2023)  – Rising newcomer Walker Montgomery leans into his traditional country roots and legacy more than ever on his brand new EP, WORK TO DO, OUT NOW at all streaming outlets via Clear Creek Productions and is featured on "NuMu Friday" on Radio Sobro today. STREAM HERE

The new Bart Butler-produced project meshes Montgomery’s love of 90’s country and the genre’s throwback sound with contemporary production and some solid, stone country lyrics penned by some of the best tunesmiths Nashville has to offer, including Josh Thompson, Neil Thrasher, Trent Tomlinson, Jim Collins, and more. Several standout tracks from the new EP have already been released, including the raucous boot-stomper “Lonely For A Livin’,” the crisp, fiddle and steel-tinged two-stepper title track, and the touching love ballad, “Tired Of You.”

For Montgomery, who penned two songs on the new collection, the EP moves him one step closer to cementing who he wants to be as an artist on country’s new canvas of up-and-comers. “This was my first time in the studio working with Bart Butler, and that was obviously a treat to get in there and work with him. He is definitely very traditional leaning in the way he produces and his style, and I think ever since I started cutting songs and putting them out a few years ago, each project has been leaning more towards that traditional sound. So it was a perfect match for where I wanted to head music-wise. I’m really proud of the way it sounds and I hope the fans like it.”

Early comments from media include:

Play It Again Music has signed Walker Montgomery to a multi-faceted music publishing and artist development deal. Play It Again founder and CEO Dallas Davidson, who has earned 25 No. 1 singles, will produce a new project for Montgomery, the son of John Michael Montgomery and nephew of Eddie Montgomery, which will be released on the company’s independent label.

“I know a superstar when I see one, and as soon as I met Walker I knew we had to make him a part of our team. With that much talent running through his blood, it won’t be long before everyone knows how incredible he is,” Davidson says.

Before signing his deal, Walker Montgomery earned more than 3 million streams with his self-penned first single “Simple Town,” which earned the attention of Play It Again’s President, Juli Newton-Griffith. Griffith looks forward to spearheading the development of Montgomery’s career and establishing him as a major songwriter and recording artist.

“There is something very special about Walker. He is a natural super star. This is going to be really fun!” says Newton-Griffith.

“This is totally BUCKET LIST for me!! I’ve been in awe of Dallas Davidson since I was a teenager and only dreamed about the opportunity to shake his hand someday.
